Boxed app doesn't work on Wine (Linux)

Greetings!

I really love EVB, but there is one problem. Applications compiled in Enigma Virtual Box don't work under Wine (I tested it under Linux Mint 21 and Wine 7).

The application starts without any errors, but then just hangs in the processes and nothing happens. The CPU is loaded by 25%, and the RAM starts to grow in 5-10 mb per second.

This happens with any application that has attached files that are embedded along with the main exe file (for example, linked DLLs or secondary exe's). If there is only one exe file with no embeddings, then the application starts normally.

Can this be tested and possibly fixed? Wine settings aren't depends on it. It's enough just default Wine prefix with fresh Wine install.

Please try this version, we have made couple of fixes that did not work for Wine:
https://enigmaprotector.com/assets/file ... 221220.exe

If the file packed with this version still does not work, please provide us non packed files at support@enigmaprotector.com we will check your application in Wine too.

Thanks for your attention!
Unfortunately, in the new version I didn't find any changes in behavior on all the programs I tried. As soon as the program tries to load virtual files, it freezes in memory.

I have sent you a couple of sample projects by email, please check them yourself.

All the files works fine for Wine now, but some people complains there are same issues as described at topic start - with the Steam's Proton framework. It is based on Wine too, but uses some unique patches to better work with games. Can this be tested too?

In fact, no games required - just steam with Proton needs to be installed, and then we should add any custom "game" to the list as shown on this video: https://streamable.com/pukwz . You may even use my files I sent you last time on email.

Can you please contact us at support@enigmaprotector.com with description, how to reproduce the problem?

I learned more about the Proton, and it's just based on older Wine versions, 3-5. People say it's okay with boxed files on the Proton 7 - so, your tests can be facilitated simply by installing older versions of Wine (from 3 to 5) - they can still be found in some repositories. You may use the same files that I sent you by email for tests in December...
